Organic Gunpowder
An Organically grown Gunpowder tea from Zhejiang Province.
Tightly rolled leaves resembling pellets of gunpowder give this tea its name.
As the infuse the unfurl to infuse a delicious cup that is light and refreshing and slightly sweet, making a great introduction to whole leaf teas.
This is a classic Chinese tea that is ideal for drinking throughout the day, as the leaves are good for several infusions.

Health Benefits
All tea originates from the same plant, Camellia Sinensis. However, the final product differs in appearance, taste and caffeine content due to differences in processing, in particular fermentation. Green teas are not fermented or oxidized like oolong and black teas, but are steamed or pan fired immediately after plucking. Because green tea is the least processed of all teas the concentrations of minerals and the all important antioxidants are higher. Recent medical studies have shown that green tea has positive benefits in fighting Heart Disease and viruses, slowing aging, and potentially helping combating the free radicals that cause some cancers. Brewing
Take one large teaspoon of Organic Gunpowder per cup and pour over water that has boiled and cooled to 80 degrees C. The best way to gauge this is to allow a boiled kettle to sit for 2-3 minutes. Let your leaves to infuse the water for between 3 and 4 minutes depending on your desired strength. These leaves will produce several infusions making this a very economical tea.
