Health Benefits

All tea originates from the same plant, Camellia Sinensis, yet the final product can vary widely in style, taste, and caffeine content—differences that are determined by how the tea is processed after harvesting.

In a similar way that tea works in harmony with the body, CBD interacts with an important internal system known as the Endocannabinoid System (ECS). Every human has an ECS, which plays a vital role in maintaining balance within the body. Its two primary functions are regulating mood, energy levels, and general well-being, and supporting recovery and stability after illness or injury.

The ECS consists of three main components: endocannabinoids (naturally occurring lipid-based messengers), cannabinoid receptors (CB1 and CB2), and enzymes that synthesize and break down these compounds. CB1 receptors are primarily found in the brain and central nervous system, while CB2 receptors are located in the immune and gastrointestinal systems.

Think of the ECS as a system of locks and keys—where the receptors are the locks and the endocannabinoids are the keys that "unlock" various physiological responses. These responses affect functions such as memory, mood, appetite, pain sensation, and immune activity.

By introducing plant-derived cannabinoids such as CBD (cannabidiol), we can support and enhance the performance of the ECS, potentially improving its ability to regulate balance in the body.

While medicinal cannabis has been used for centuries in traditional medicine, modern science is only beginning to uncover its full potential. The University of Oxford, recognizing the safety profile of CBD, has committed £10 million to research its therapeutic benefits—particularly in relation to conditions such as epilepsy, Alzheimer’s, cancer, psychosis, Parkinson’s disease, and more.
