Description

Harvested April 2024, this exceptional White Monkey Green Tea is hand-picked at the start of the spring season, using only the youngest buds and tender leaves. Grown high in the misty mountains of Fujian Province, the leaves are carefully processed to preserve their delicate form and natural flavour.

The dry leaf is a visual treat with its spiralling green leaves laced with silvery tips, resembling the paws of a white monkey, from which the tea takes its charming name. When steeped, the leaves gently unfurl to release a pale and golden liquor that is clean, light, and beautifully aromatic.

The flavour is soft and refreshing, with delicate vegetal notes, hints of sweet hay, and a slightly sweet, lingering finish. Low in caffeine but rich in antioxidants, White Monkey is a perfect choice for those seeking a gentle, calming green tea.

An elegant cup of green tea ideal for mindful sipping throughout the day.

Health Benefits

All tea comes from the same plant, Camellia Sinensis, but the way it's processed creates the wide variety of teas we enjoy today. Green tea is minimally processed and not oxidised, which helps preserve its natural antioxidants, fresh flavour, and vibrant green color.

Compared to black tea, green tea retains a higher concentration of polyphenols, particularly catechins like EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate), which are known for their powerful antioxidant properties. While green tea contains less caffeine than black tea, it still provides a gentle energy boost which is ideal for staying alert without the jitters.

Green tea is linked to a wide range of health benefits, including:

  • Enhanced brain function and focus
  • Support for heart health and healthy cholesterol levels
  • Boosted metabolism and fat oxidation
  • Reduced inflammation and cellular protection

It also contains the amino acid L-theanine, which works synergistically with caffeine to promote calm, focused energy and support mental clarity without causing drowsiness.

With its light, refreshing taste and wellness-supporting qualities, green tea is an ideal daily ritual for both mind and body.
