Harvested in Spring 2017 this Big Red Robe or, Da Hong Pao is a mid fired Oolong tea from Wu Yi in Fujian. It is sumptuous and smooth with a deep rich flavour.

The long slender, slightly curled leaves produce a cup with top notes of cacoa and lightly toasted bread. These give way to a richly flavoured tea that develops into a sweet, floral, very smooth and slightly malty, fruity tea with a long finish.

Brewing

Take one heaped teaspoon and add water that is around 90 degrees C. Allow to infuse for 2 minutes or longer to taste. Subsequent infusions will allow different flavours to develop.
